This week, John and Brian travel to Transylvania to visit the crypt of Count Dracula….well not quite, we actually visit 1995 and Dracula’s crypt is full of Leslie Nielsen Naked Gun Jokes, Peter McNichol eating flies, and of course…an enema. We are talking about the horror parody from comedic master Mel Brooks, “Dracula Dead and Loving It.” A movie that feels like a weird sibling to 1974’s Young Frankenstein; a parody of both the early 90’s classic horror monster revival ushered in by 1992’s Bram Stoker’s Dracula and a comedic homage to Hammer Films. But unlike Young Frankenstein, this movie was panned by critics and marked the end of Mel Brooks line of parody films dating all the way back to the 70’s. But is this movie really that awful?
